Using one of the most typical grapes in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Le Vigne di Zamò produces this optimal ribolla gialla. All the fruit is destemmed and pressed immediately, the most ferment in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 16-18°C. The wine stays on the lees for eight months before going into bottle.
The Zamò family have a long history as wine-lovers. In 1924 Luigi Zamò – father of Tullio, grandfather of Pierluigi and Stefano – opened a restaurant in Manzano in the Province of Udine. This was followed by the purchase of vineyards in areas which have traditionally produced the best Friulian wines. Nearly a century later, having won numerous awards and widespread esteem, the company can show off its innovative aspect in its impressive new underground cellar facilities, but its vocation for traditional goodness remains the same.
