The most frequently cultivated vine in Italy, Sangiovese is used to make some of the country’s most renowned wines. This variety finds an ideal setting in the hills of Castrocaso. Here, grapes obtain just the right level of concentration and ripeness, giving rise to wines with great personality and character, that have nothing to envy of wine produced in their more highly acclaimed bordering territories.
The Gregorina Estate is ideally located, with a microclimate for the most perfect Sangiovese. It is located on the gentle slopes of the Romagna hills, near the town of Castrocaro Terme – Terra del Sole (province of Forli’ and Cesena).
The estate covers 200 acres of calcareous and clay soil, 80 acres are planted with Guyot and spurred-cordon vineyards. In 2007, 75 more acres were added, half of which will be planted with new vineyards.
