Stretched Bread-Sticks with Flour type 00
The bread-stick is a traditional product that has for long been identified with the Italian region of Piedmont and Mario Fongo has given us his own particular interpretation by creating stirati - stretched bread-sticks, manually produced in many delicious versions: traditional, maize, wholemeal, without lard and with H2O. The leavened dough is rolled out by hand, shaping the bread-sticks with an attention that belongs to another era. The hand rolling process is carried out by stretching the sheet of dough for the entire width of the baker’s arms: this gives the breadsticks a fragrance that would not be possible in an industrial process, and makes them extraordinarily light and crumbly. Also for his stretched bread-sticks, Mario Fongo uses only the best ingredients, with a particular attention to the flour blend, carefully selected in collaboration with approved millers, to obtain a crispness, a flavour and an aroma that is always unique
Ingredients: farina di grano tipo "00", acqua, olio extra vergine d'oliva biologico 100% italiano, lievito di birra, sale marino e malto.
It contains cereals with gluten and milk. Possible traces of sesame seeds and nuts.
Our breadstickes can be enjoyed with both sweet and savory ingredients, but they are a perfect match with cured ham, salami, fresh or seasoned cheese, or with mozzarella, sliced tomato and a little of olive oil. So that nothing is lacking, we suggest a good glass of wine and cheerful company!
