ANTICO PASTIFICIO ROSETANO S.R.L.
The history of Verrigni is rich of passion, handicrafts, tradition and innovation. The history of a family able to hand on since 1898, from generation to generation, the love for its land - – Roseto degli Abruzzi - and vocation to highest quality, with no compromises. Today Verrigni, with the elegant and decisive scents and flavours of Abruzzi, is synonymous of excellence all over Italy and not only.A fairytale that began in 1898 when the Verrigni family started to produce a type of pasta made with grains ground with grindstones and mixed with water from Grass Sasso and then dried outdoors, hung to bamboo canes. The adventure continued with the experimentation of drying methods through the use of chambers, with forced-air fans and heat sources to create a constant temperature. Since 2008, with the same passion of the founders, Gaetano and his wife Francesca Petrei Castelli - a marriage strengthened by the love for pasta - have been managing the company in perfect balance between tradition and innovation with a unique, important objective: highest quality, which is obtained from the selection of the best durum wheat, exclusively Italian, cultivated and mainly harvested in Abruzzi, also in the agricultural holding of Francesca. Still today, in 2010, Verrigni pasta stands out - in addition to the quality of the raw materials - for the use of craftsmanlike techniques like this one, an ancient process, which has been discontinued by the majority of pasta factories, and allows to preserve an extraordinary, unique and particular flavour.Verrigni's strength lies in the value of its history and also in the ability of who manages it, to understand and sometimes anticipate the times, with farsightedness and coherence. In view of this, Gaetano Verrigni had the idea to experiment new processing techniques of the dough. In collaboration with artisan-goldsmith Sandro Seccia, the pasta with gold profiles was born: spaghettoro and fusilloro, innovative products obtained using the gold drawing technique for the first time.
